Terranotta

Drawing on many years of experience in the production and installation of bespoke terracotta replacements has led us to create a new material especially for the restoration of historic terracotta and faience buildings, or the construction of new buildings in the traditional style.

Using our digital techniques we are able to scan a building and work with the design team to identify units for replacement. We can then extract the data from the model and create templates and profiles for manufacture accurate to +/- 1mm. We then manufacture the replacement units in advance of scaffolding being erected, generating significant savings in scaffold hire duration and preliminary costs. Due to shorter on-site durations, using our product also reduces disturbance to tenants and retail units.

Our Material

Our material is available in significantly shorter lead times and reduced cost compared to clay based materials, and once installed it is indistinguishable from the adjacent existing units. We blend our material with colour fast pigments to match existing tones. We can even apply a decorative finish and glaze to replicate faience.

Our Terranotta uses the Vitrolithic mix within the units containing recycled glass and cement alternatives. So not only are you reducing costs and project duration, but you are also using a material with a lower carbon footprint than the alternatives.

Glazing & Ceramics

We also have the ability to replicate all types of glazed ceramics including Architectural Faience, Carrara Ware, Glazed Bricks, Glazed Tiles and Ceramic Sculptures.

We use a combination of techniques to create long lasting chemically bonded colours and patterns. The colours can be solid or opaque.

Once the desired colour base has been created we apply a clear glaze coat. We can adjust the gloss level as required.

In common with our unglazed units, all our glazes and coatings are natural products and fire resistant.
